A total of five hundred million shillings has been secured for the reconstruction of Maziba primary school in Maziba sub-county in Kabale district.

According to the area member of parliament, Wilfred Niwagaba, the money in question is already on the account of the Kabale district and can now be used to take emergency measures to save the situation at the school that was ravaged by heavy rains leaving the learners with nowhere to go.

Wilfred Niwagaba says that the destruction of the school means that the learners are seriously affected and need urgent help.

The legislator says that there is a need for more money to be raised to ensure that there is a new facility in place and at a raised location so that they do away with the effects of the heavy rains that have turned it into a habit to destroy structures at the school.

Niwagaba adds that there is more than 300 million shillings that have been stuck in the ministry of education despite the fact that he worked together with Kabale woman member of Parliament Catherine Atwakiire Ndamira to lobby for it.
