Police in Kasanda district are searching for George Junior Junior , a male juvenile aged 2 months, son of Muleleneza Donatia and Maseruka George, residents of Mugoba “B” village, Mundade parish, Kitumbi sub-county in Kassanda district.
Maleneneza’s mother allegedly took him to the clinic at Bulimimula trading center, Mundade parish, Kitumbi sub-county for treatment on February 14, 2022, after the baby awoke with a skin infection.
Muleleneza left her house with her child around 12:00pm and walked up to the clinic, arriving around 4 pm where the child was examined and given drugs.
Muleleneza was returning home when she encountered three unidentified people, two men and one woman, in the swamp of the new forest company standing alongside the road, who pretended to know her and began congratulating her on giving birth to the baby.
According to Racheal Kawala, the Wamala regional police spokesperson, the suspects asked her to uncover the baby so they could see it, but she declined because she didn’t know them.
One of the suspects is said to have kicked the woman before grabbing the child from her, and the three vanished into the forest, despite her best efforts to track them down.
Kawala adds that the police are looking for the suspects in order to recover the baby.
