As Uganda celebrated Women’s Day, the Rubanda District Woman Mp, Hon Akampurira Mbabazi Prossy, has called upon the public to desist from negative thinking in government programs that intend to uplift them.

Speaking to our reporter in Kabale town, Hon. Prossy Akampurira Mbabazi Begumisa, who doubles as the commission of Parliament, showed concern that the public has negative thoughts about government programs intended to alleviate poverty in the community.

She said that the reason why people are not benefiting from government programs is that they are not fully involved in them.

Akampurira added that the reason behind the NRM government’s empowering women is to have cooperation between the husband and wife. She urged women to work together with their husbands in order to have stable families.

“Women are pillars of the family, and they play a big role in the upbringing of children and the entire family, and they do represent their husbands in their absentia,” said Prossy.

She applauded husbands who have helped their wives and further called upon women to have respect for their husbands.
