Mitooma district mourns retired educationist

locals and leaders in Mitooma district are mourning the death of a retired educationist.

Fredrick Musinguzi is a retired headteacher and served in several schools in the district before retiring from civil service.

The former Headmaster Mushunga Primary school In Mitoma  District has sucumbed to pressure.

The deceased, who is a son of the late Yorokam Gakyaro, a former of Bubaare in Rubanda district, breathed his last on March 16th, 2022, succumbing to hypatension. Born on the 20th of March 1954, Musinguzi died at the age of 68.

Musingunzi joined Mitoma Boys in 1963 for his primary education and Ibanda Secondary School in 1974 before joining Masindi Teacher Training College in 1978, where he graduated as a grade two teacher.    

In 1980, Musingunzi went to Mushunga Primary School as a teacher in Mitoma District. In 1990, he was transferred to Mitoma Central Primary School as the Headteacher. He was transferred to Kyankukwe Primary School in early 2000, before heading back to Mushunga in 2003, where he retired in 2014.   Musingunzi acted as the headmaster in all three primary schools where he served.

  Musingunzi has left one widow, Mrs. Ketty Musingunzi, six children (2 girls and 4 boys) and eight grandchildren.   He has been sick for two months.

Mitooma district chairperson Benon Karyaija described the deceased as a committed and faithful teacher who worked hard ensure that the communities he served are uplifted.
