24.3 million borehole drilling project commissioned in Masindi.

 The Masindi Resident district commissioner Emmy Ngabirano yesterday launched the drilling of another hole worth Shs 24,384,781.

  The launch took place in Kasomoro village, Miirya Sub-County, Masindi District, with a call to the water user committees to protect and maintain the borehole to enable it to serve the community efficiently.

  According to the District Water Officer, a total of 10 boreholes are slated to be drilled this year, each borehole costing 24,384,782 and production well at 42,544,782, bringing the total sum of drilling to Shs 286,392,592.

  Masindi District Chairperson Cosmas Byaruhanga said that the district decided to drill 5 boreholes out of 10 in Miirya Sub-County because this area has long faced a water crisis challenge.

Margret Atuhairwe a resident of Kasomoro village who also doubles as a member of the village health teams commended the government for extending water supply to their village, as this will solve the scarcity of water in the area.
