Agaba Edmond sworn in as a member of Kabale district land board

The Kabale District Chief Administrative officer, Edmond Ntimba, has
today swore in, John Bosco Agaba, as a member of the District Land
Board.
Agaba, was approved by the District Council that sat on 28th October
2021, chaired by the District, Flavia Nyinakiiza Kanagizi. Agaba
replaces, Augustine Bwiragura, who declined re-appointment to the
board, that was approved by the district council on 16th June 2020,
after the expiry of the term of office of the former board on 20th
March the same year. The other board members are, Cephas Birungi
Kagyenda, the chairperson, Elisah Rukanga, Zainab Hamisi Alli and Hope
Tukamushaba.

Now, the CAO, Edmond Ntimba, who invoked his powers as the head the
District Public Service to preside over the swearing-in, asked the
Agaba, to work at ensuring matters related to land are handled in a
just way and in line with legal requirements, in order to reduce on the
land related wrangles.

He also added the land board, which makes very important decisions and
controls the land as an elastic resource, they continued to do a
commendable job despite meager facilitation.
The Kabale District Land Board Chairperson, Cephas Birungi, noted that
although there has public criticism, pitying several district land
boards, his land board has not had any technical issues or disputes
levied against them.
He added that they managed to process over 5,000 land titles in their
first term of office, which he said was quite an exquisite achievement. He
promised that the land board will continue to handle matters related
to land, with due diligence and the necessary professionalism.
Speaking after his swearing-in which took place in the district boardroom,
Agaba pledged to cooperate with other members of the board in order to
manage land-related matters in conformity with the provisions of the
Constitution, Land Act, and the land Regulations, on the ownership and
management of land.
