The territorial Police of Mbarara City are investigating the circumstances in which No.19015 Prison Warder Chemutai Aloysious male adult, aged about 27 and attached to Kakiika Prison, shot and killed No.19109 Prison Wardress Adong Magodalena female, aged about 24 and attached to Prison Academy and Training School Luzira, who had come to visit him and later turned the gun on himself yesterday the 13/06/2022 at 1955/c.
According to the preliminary investigations, the two officers have been in a relationship and on the 11/06/2022, Prison Wardress Adong Magodalena paid a visit to Warder Chemutai Aloysious at Kakiika prison, but on the 13/06/2022, while on duty, Warder Chemutai Aloysious shot and killed Adong Magodalena, who was together with him while on duty.
Rwizi regional police spokesperson Samson Kasasira says that the police have visited the scene and recovered the killer weapon, SMG Rifle No. UG PRI 49001094-01247, with 24 rounds of ammunition and three cartridges of the discharged bullets.
The bodies of the deceased have been taken to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital Mortuary for postmortem as inquiries into the matter continue
