Father’s Heart Mobility Ministry in partnership with the State Minister of trade industry and cooperatives David Bahati and Kabale district woman member of parliament Catherine Atwakiire Ndamira have donated 200 wheelchairs, 10 pairs of clutches and 5 walking sticks to people living with disabilities (PWD) in Kabale district.
Father’s Heart Mobility Ministry, is an organization based in Uganda that raises support to provide wheelchairs for those with mobility problems.
Speaking at the function during the launching distribution held at Revival Tabernacle Church Bugongi, kabale municipality today, the Executive Director of Father’s Heart Mobility Ministry, Francis Mugwanya said that having an experience on how he suffered to get a wheelchair being a PWD in his childhood, he grew up with a dream of supporting any PWD with a wheelchair.
He added that when Atwakiire and Bahati approached him in 2017 asking for support to PWDs, thus started mobilization for funds to ensure that they are supported. Hon Bahati and Catherine have provided all the transport costs and accommodation to ensure that the wheel chairs reach the beneficiaries in the district.
He asked the Government to ensure that they plan and consider people living with disabilities so that they are also represented in Government and are well educated.
Mugunywa said that he has so far supported PWDs with wheelchairs in 99 districts and his target is to reach out to all the PWDs in Uganda.
Speaking at the function, Atwakiire said that she was forced to lobby for the support due to the harsh situations PWDs face kabale being a terrain.
She advised the parents of Pwd’s to love, educate and support them towards their growth so that they become important people in future.
Atwakiire cautioned the beneficiaries against selling off the wheelchairs and promised to continue lobbying for them so that everybody can receive.
The chairperson Kabale for People Living with disabilities Night Grace commended fathers heart mobility for thinking about Pwd’s and provide wheelchairs that will help them to move from one place to another.
The distribution started with Ndorwa west and Ndorwa East tomorrow distribution will continue to those who have not received and to the people of Kabale Municipality.
