Jesus mighty Engineering and Property Consultants Limited, a company that was contracted to put up a two-stance drainable toilet at Rukonin Health Center III in Ihunga Sub County, has come under fire from the top management of Ntungamo District over unsatisfactory work.

The concerns follow a monitoring visit by the district executive and the technocrats led by Local Council Five Chairperson Sam Muchunguzi and Chief Administrative Officer Mathius Ndifuna early this week.

The team was disappointed by the work executed in comparison with the 16 million shillings allocated to the project.

The authorities say that the works executed were below standards as the toilet had started developing cracks and the ramp was poorly made, yet it should be accessed by patients.

Ntungamo district chairperson Sam Muchunguzi says that he was disappointed by the work executed and called for investigations into the matter.

Ntungamo district vice chairperson Asuman Kigongo said that the monitoring team resolved that the contractor should not be awarded any other contract based on the work at Rukoni health center.

Other members on the monitoring team included Ntungamo principal internal auditor Caleb Ninsiima,Environment officer Abraham Atuhaire,Secretary for health Bibaina Kakinoni ,Acting district health officer Beatrice Chemisto among others.

Sources from the works department indicate that the contractor was not cooperative and was actually made to demolish and reconstruct the toilet twice.

The management of the company could not be reached for a comment and was not present at the time of the monitoring.
