Tensions flared in Rwemiriro Cell II, Kagango Ward, Rubaare town council today as residents woke up in an agitated mood while preparing for the burial of Kamugisha, who was brutally killed by being hacked to death with a machete. The residents took matters into their own hands and destroyed properties belonging to Moses Tushabe, whom they suspected of being the perpetrator behind Danson Kamugisha’s gruesome murder.

The destructive spree involved the annihilation of banana plantations, houses, and belongings, including the confinements of Tushabe. Additionally, three goats and one pig were slaughtered during the night as part of the retaliation.

The tragic incident occurred after Danson Kamugisha was stabbed to death at approximately 7:45 pm on Tuesday, 1st August 2023. Moses Tushabe, who is currently on the run, allegedly inflicted multiple fatal wounds to Kamugisha’s head and then proceeded to slaughter him like a goat.
