Police in Kabale are investigating circumstances under which a 14 years old girl was knocked dead.
The deceased has been identified as Denise Ainebyona daughter to Justus Byomuhangi of Nyamirambira B” village Kicumbi parish in Kamuganguzi sub county Kabale district.
Kigezi regional police spokesperson Elly Maate says that the girl was knocked dead by a speeding car registration number UBG 659 G double cabin Toyota Hilux that was driven by one Kitaka Abdul of Mukono.
Maate says that the accident happened today morning at around 09:00hrs along Katuna -Kabale highway few meters from her home when was knocked from behind while riding a bicycle.
Maate adds that the vehicle did not stop and was intercepted by police at Muhanga police check point in Rukiga district and is now parked at Kabale police station pending inspection.
He adds that investigations into the matter are underway.
