Somber mood as Kabale photographer is laid to rest

The body of Drake Turyahabwa 24 a photographer in Kabale who was knocked yesterday evening at highland along Kabale-Kisoro Road has been laid to rest at his ancestral home in Kirwa cell Northern Division Kabale Municipality.

According to Elly Maate, Kigezi region police spokesperson,Turyahabwa Was knocked yesterday at around 9:00pm at Highland hotel along Kabale Kisoro road in Kabale Township by yet unknown speeding car.

Speaking during the burial ceremony, Badru Biryomumaisho the LC 4 Councilor Kijuguta ward emphasized the need for security and people to make deep investigations into what led to his death.

He adds that since yesterday evening he has received different mixed reactions about exactly what happened to the deceased since there is no clarification from police about the death.

He further advised the public to continue adhering to covid-19 ministry of health guidelines and presidential directives.

Rev. Norman Tiwangye, the Parish Priest Kijuguta Church of Uganda asked Christians to number the days when still alive and make these days valuable.

He also called upon Christians to make sure that they avoid night movements saying that if Drake’s incident happened during the day they would be having clear information about the death.

Tumuramye, the father of the deceased  couldn’t hide his love for the son describing him as a social, friendly, respectful man who has gone at a young age expecting his fruits in future.

The deceased graduated on the 28th May 2021 from Kabale University with a degree in Tourism and Hotel Management.

The mourners described the deceased as committed young man whose dreams have been cut short by untimely death.
