Police in Rukungiri are hunting a 40-year-old man for allegedly cutting his own biological brother using a Panga to death.
The deceased is Robert Nuwagaba 36 resident of Katenga cell, Nyibingo Parish, Kebisoni Sub county Rukungiri District whereas the suspect is Benon Mpora 40 years.
Elly maate, the Kigezi region Police Spokesperson, said that yesterday at around at 8pm the two brothers were coming from Nyibingo trading centre heading back home while on the way they developed a quarrel whereby the deceased kicked the brother and fell down.
Maate adds that while down; the suspect jumped and sat on him, overpowered him, grabbed his neck and used the new Panga bought from the trading center for his casual work at the hand and cut him.
The deceased immediately started bleeding furiously and made an alarm which attracted Catherine Kyomukama 40 who separated them and later she was joined by other people.
Maate revealed that they tried to rush him to Damson’s Clinic in Kebisoni trading center for First Aid where he was pronounced dead before was attended to
A case of Murder was reported at Kebisoni Police Station by Baguma Justus 27 mechanic, resident of the above cell at 0140hrs
Scene was visited, body picked and taken to Rwakabengo Health Center III pending postmortem.
A case of murder by cutting has been registered under reference number CRB 1230/20211
