On Friday, a 40-year-old man was washed away by floods in the Rubanda district’s Hamurwa town council.
Martin Turikirokyi, a resident of Hamurwa ward in Rubanda district, was killed in the incident last night.
According to Ely Maate, the Kigezi police spokesperson, there was a heavy downpour last night in most parts of Rubanda district, causing floods that forced the closure of the Kabale-Kisoro highway.
According to Maate, Turikirokyi’s body was discovered this morning near the Baj fuel station and was taken by relatives for a proper burial.
