Police in Kabale district is investigating circumstances under which a yet-to-be-known vehicle knocked and killed a pedestrian.
The deceased has been identified as Acin Phirium (24) an Acholi by tribe who has been working with network telecom and a resident of Kabara-Kaharo sub-county in Kabale district.
The deceased while at Habuyonza in Kaharo sub-county along the Mbarara-Kabale highway reportedly climbed on a trailer box body without the knowledge of the driver before jumping off later last evening.
Occurred on 13/01/2022 at about 1400hrs at Habuyonza village Kaharo sub country along Kle Mbarara highway.
Acin reportedly landed in the middle of the road from where he was knocked by an oncoming vehicle killing him on the spot.
Kigezi regional police spokesperson Elly Maate says that the police visited the scene of crime and the body was taken to Kabale regional Referral hospital mortuary for a postmortem.
