The application by Mr. Begumisa Protazio to bring new evidence to the court of appeal has been dismissed. The court will now base on the evidence that was already presented in the High court to deliver its ruling.
He accuses Wilfred Niwagaba of rigging, voter bribery, and harassing his agents. According to the petition, Niwagaba connived with a one  Alexander Kyokwijuka, a business consultant and a resident of Kigarama in maziba sub-county and harassed his agents, especially in the sub-counties of Maziba and Buhara.
Begumisa also alleges that Niwagaba connived with police officers who had been deployed in Ndorwa East to rig his victory.  He also argues that on reaching the tally Centre that was held at Kabale district council hall at Makanga hill, Kabale municipality, Niwagaba connived with Nadulli to alter the results, something that the High court has since dismissed as baseless allegations.
Protazio Begumisa lost the Ndorwa East County Member of Parliament seat to Wilfred Niwagaba. Begumisa who’s the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party flag bearer garnered 15, 826 votes while Niwagaba got 15,962 votes.
This means that Protazio’s hopes are slowly being shuttered, and may have to wait to tussle it out with Alexander Kyokwijuka the humble citizen from Kigarama in 2026 since unconfirmed reports emerged recently that he (Alexander Kyokwijuka) has been harboring aspirations to represent Ndorwa East in 2026.
There is also information that on election Day, Mr. Begumisa attacked Kyokwijuka in Kigarama and   instructed his body guards to arrest the young man who was carrying out his election related duties  Kigarama and it is the local people who rescued the young man. Protazio then drove away in frustration because Alexander Kyokwijuka had foiled all plans by his camp to buy voters and rig votes in Kigarama and Kitambi and other areas of Maziba Subcounty.
We later learnt that Alexander Kyokwijuka had a network of young people who were ably informing him and also monitoring all acts of malpractice by the Protazio camp and it was easy for him to foil all the evil plans.
It remains unclear whether Protazio Begumisa will now come back to contest with the young man (Kyokwijuka) who mobilized young people to deliver victory to Niwagaba Wilfred in the 2021 General Elections.

However, when our reporter tried reaching out to Alexander Kyokwijuka for a comment, his known phones could not go through.

The court is yet to give its ruling on the application by Hon. Niwagaba’s lawyers to throw out the whole case, which ruling has been reserved on notice.
