Three remanded for attacking a neighboring school in Ntungamo

The Hillside Academy deputy headteacher was on Friday remanded with two students for masterminding an attack on a neighboring school in the southwestern district of Ntungamo.  

The suspected students are Katto Aryahebwa and Kakuru Orishaba, while the deputy headteacher has been identified as Ariho Mudasura who also doubles as the sports master at Hillside Academy located in Itojo sub-county of Ntungamo district.  

The Court heard that on March 21st, 2022, at around 1 am, students of Hillside Academy secondary school, attached to Ruhanga Adventist secondary school, with marchets, broke glasses, doors, smashed school lorries, and destroyed banana plantations totaling 15 M. According to the headmaster of Hillside Academy secondary school, Mr. Kakuhikire Onesmas, nine students were admitted.


The suspects were charged with criminal trespass, malicious damage, grievous harm, assault, and occasionally actual bodily harm.

They asked for bail but were never granted it as the case was a security risk.    The grade one magistrate, His Worship Kakuru Edgar, said the investigations are still going on and therefore remanded them till June 25th, 2022.
