Authorities in Ntungamo district have called for joint efforts toward improving the quality of education in the area.
This call was made today by the deputy resident district commissioner Robert Niwamanya Kamuntu while speaking as the chief guest at the release of the district mock exams results.
Kamuntu revealed that all the stakeholders must play their roles to ensure that the pupils are well prepared and have a conducive environment where the children can comfortably learn.
Speaking at the same function, Ntungamo vice chairperson Asuman Kigongo urged the teacher and head teachers to continue being patient despite the challenge of salary disparities.
Ntungamo district education officer Fred Bahati revealed that the marking and release of joint mock exams enable the district to gauge their performance and make necessary improvements ahead of the primary leaving examinations later this year.
January Masheija the chairperson Ntungamo district headteachers association commended the district leadership for working closely with schools to make the exercise a successful one. He also urged parents to support their children in ensuring that they get better results in the forth coming primary leaving examinations.
A total of 11114 candidates sat for the exams with 946 passing in Division one,3706 in Division two,2119 in Division three,1951 in Division four,206 in Division DX, and 30 in Division Y.
