Police in Rubanda are investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths of two people, namely, Silver Nkwasibwe alias Kadenge, 50, and Bedah Muhumuza, both casual laborers and residents of Rwakirangama cell and Kabisha cell, respectively, in Kyenyi parish, Muko county, and Rubanda district.

Kigezi regional police spokesperson Elly Maate says that it’s alleged that Kadenge left home a month ago with friends, who include Bedah Muhumuza. They went to carry timbers in the Kitagata cell, and since November 17, 2022, he has never been seen. On November 21, 2022, at around 2000 hrs, the residents of Kitagata discovered his body and notified the relatives; on arrival, they found Muhumuza Bedah putting on clothes belonging to Kadenge, which prompted them to lynch him to death.

Laban, a boda boda rider, informed the police on Saturday; the scene was visited and processed; a postmortem was performed on both bodies, and no suspect has yet been arrested.

Maate further revealed that the police have already commenced investigations into the matter.
