The Rukiga district woman MP, Hon. Kamusiime Caroline Muhwezi, donated on Tuesday 75 tarpaulins worth 3,750,000 shillings to Muhanga town council women entrepreneurs dealing in sorghum value addition.

Addressing the women at her office in Muhanga Town Council Rukiga District, Hon Kamusiime Caroline Muhwezi showed concern for sanitation in Muhanga Town Council, saying that she has received several complaints about the river where the women carry out their activities.

Kamusiime added that she decided to donate the tarpaulins after observing the situation of the women who were passing through before processing the sorghum, saying that there were delays in drying up the sorghum due to limited tarpaulins among the women.

Some of the beneficiaries of the tarpaulins, Moreen Ewenamanya, Doreen Nsasibwe, and Evas Bushari, applauded Hon. Kamusiime Caroline Muhwezi upon her donations, saying that the situation before the donations was worse.

They added that the little they had was also old, and most of the time they would incur losses.

The legislature further extended 20 tons of maize seeds worth 70 million to most villages that were hit by heavy downpours in Kibanda Parish, Kamwezi subcounty.

Kamusiime said that at first she had chosen the most victims of the heavy downpour, but under the guidance of the chairperson of Lc1s, she extended the donation to each household.

The beneficiaries, who were from Kanshansha, Rwanyakiju, Kakanyoro, Kinyamoozi, Nyabunyungu, Rushonjwa, Rwemigugu, Rubogo, Kakamba, Katungu, Kamuhaa, and Kitinda cells, all in Kibanda Parish, Kamwezi Sub County, applauded the legislature for timely extending her donation at a time when everyone is in need of it.

Kamusiime recently supported the women vending along the Muhanga Mbarara Road with umbrellas.
