Police in Rubanda are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of an unidentified male adult.
It is alleged that on May 12, 2023, at around 2100 hrs., at Nyakabungo cell/ward Rubanda town council, the deceased, who is not yet identified, armed with a knife, attacked the home of one Kabuga Charles and only found his wife, Edevina.
Kigezi regional police spokesperson Elly says that the suspect grabbed her and tried to put some herbs in her mouth. For unknown reasons, she raised an alarm, which brought the attention of other local residents who came to her rescue.
He was chased, got, and overpowered, and later taken to the home of the area chairman, one Silver Beyaraza, where he was beaten by the mob and killed.
The scene was visited, documented, and the body of the deceased taken to Kabale Regional Hospital Mortuary for postmortem.
