One was killed in the Kabale accident.

One person was killed yesterday in an accident that occurred at Mwirangizo cell, Kitumba subcounty, Kabale district.

The incident involved motor vehicle registration number UBE225K fuso fighter white in colour, driven by Byamukama James, a 50-year-old mukiga by tribe, a resident of Lower Bugongi, northern division Kabale municipality, who is in police custody, and a male adult pedestrian, Twebembere ius, a 39-year-old mukiga by tribe, Kasinde cell Kitumba subcount Kabale district.
  
Kigezi regional police spokesperson Elly Maate says that the scene was visited by police, the body was recovered and taken to Kabale referral hospital mortuary for a postmortem, and a motor vehicle was parked at the police station pending an inspection of the vehicle.

Maate adds that it is alleged that the deceased has been a turner on the same motor vehicle and he had not worked, but when he saw the vehicle coming, he tried to jump and climb behind; in due course, he missed and fell underneath before he was knocked.
