Police in Kabale are investigating the circumstances surrounding the sudden death of 34-year-old Colodina Nyirabizimana, a Rwandan by nationality, a sex worker, and a resident of Kigongi A cell, Kigongi ward, central division, Kabale municipality.
Kigezi regional police spokesperson Elly Maate says that it’s alleged that, on October 9, 2023, at around 08:00 hrs, at New Califonia bar and lodge Kigongi, one of the deceased, who was a sex worker at the said lodge, was found dead lying on her bed by the manager, Evan Twinomugisha.
Maate adds that the deceased has been staying at the New Califonia bar and lodge, renting room 09, since July 2023, doing her business as a sex worker.
It’s further alleged that she was last seen in the bar on October 8, 2023, in the night with an unidentified male customer, and on Monday, October 9, 2023, at around 8:00 a.m., while the said manager was collecting payment for rent, he found her dead.
A report of sudden death was accordingly registered at Kabale police station, the scene was visited and documented, and the body was retrieved and conveyed to the Kabale regional referal hospital mortuary for a postmortem to ascertain the cause of death.
