35 people injured in a Rubanda accident.

A total of 35 people have sustained serious injuries this evening after being involved in an accident along Kabale Road.
It’s alleged that the driver (names not yet known and on the run) was heading back to Kabale town from burial at Mubwindi when he failed to negotiate a sharp corner at Kamusegwa cell,Nyarurambi ward, Rubanda town council.

Kigezi regional police spokesperson Elly Maate told reporters that the vehicle registration number UAN 100Z fell on its right-hand side on the road and slid for some meters.

Maate adds that it is further alleged that the passengers warned the driver of overspeeding, but words fell on deaf ears.

The injured have been rushed to Muko Health Center IV by good samaritans.
He adds that the police have visited the scene of the accident and towed the vehicle to Rubanda police station pending inspection by the inspector of vehicles as the manhunt for the driver is underway.
