A total of Ugx 9.7 million and 162 bags of cement have been collected in cash and pledged to construct staff houses and renovate classroom blocks at St. Rukiga Primary School, Kitanga Rukiga district.

A function ceremony that happened on the school grounds attracted old boys and girls, parents, religious leaders, and government leaders, among others.

Speaking as the Guest of Honor, Counsel Kiconco Katabaazi Patrick emphasized the importance of two crucial aspects: alcohol consumption reduction and wealth creation in our homes. As Christians, it is essential that we lead exemplary lives and make conscious choices that positively impact our well-being and that of our families.

Alcohol consumption has become a growing concern in our society, and its negative effects cannot be overstated. Excessive alcohol consumption not only poses health risks but also contributes to social and economic problems within our communities. I urge each one of us to reflect on our alcohol consumption habits and consider the detrimental effects they can have on our lives and those around us.

“I would like to emphasize the importance of wealth creation in our homes. It is through wealth creation that we can provide for our families’ needs, support the education of our children, and contribute to the development of our communities,” he added.

Counsel Kiconco donated 160 bags of cement worth Ugx 6 million towards the renovation of school classrooms and the completion of staff houses. This contribution comes in addition to the 100 iron sheets he had previously donated to the school.

Rev. Fr. Julius Turyahonwa, while preaching, rallied parents to be responsible and work hand in hand with school administrators to ensure that the school performs better and grows.

He asked for a collaboration between St. Clelia Nursery and Primary School and Rukiga Primary School for better performance.

As an expression of appreciation, the school, teachers, and school management gifted Counsel Kiconco a portrait of an association for the support he has rendered to the school.
