Grace Ankunda Bekunda Bwesigye and Prof. Charles Kwesiga encouraged Ndorwa East United Family Association members to consider income-generating projects with high-profit potential.

They made this call on Tuesday during the association’s annual general meeting at Rukiko Hall, Kyanamira sub-county headquarters.

Grace Ankunda Bekunda Bwesigye, the association’s founder and a candidate for the Kabale District Woman MP seat, urged the 50 members present to set aside divisions of religion, politics, and tribe that hinder the association’s progress. She emphasized the association’s goal of fostering a saving culture and providing support during various life events, like burials and weddings.

Bwesigye invited the public to join the association, advocating for the formation of savings groups and cautioning against excessive daily spending.

Kamugisha Keneth, the LC3 Chairperson for Kyanamira Subcounty, commended the initiative and pledged ongoing support by offering the subcounty hall for future gatherings.

Prof. Eng. Charles Kwesiga, the guest of honor, stressed the importance of cooperation and focus in developing the association. He advised members to remain vigilant for opportunities from the government, NGOs, and well-wishers.

The association, founded three years ago by Grace Ankunda Bekunda Bwesigye, saved Ugandan Shillings 11,903,600 and spent Ugandan Shillings 4,310,500 in the last financial year. They are now preparing to sell shares within the association.
