Jacqueline Katabaazi, a hopeful candidate for the Rubanda District Woman MP position, encouraged Christians of Rubanda District and supporters of the ruling party to participate in the upcoming registration, display, and update process starting on Wednesday, March 13, 2024.

She said to register with the National Resistance Movement (NRM) during an upcoming registration period. She believes that registering with the NRM will facilitate the voting process for candidates when the elections take place.

Ms. Katabaazi was speaking on Sunday, addressing Christians of St. Peters Catholic Parish in Muchahi and St. James Bubare Church of Uganda Archdiocese, where she called all Christians to go to their village registrars and confirm membership in the yellow book.

“The update process will help to include new recruits into the register and delete those who have died, relocated to other areas, or crossed into other parties,” Jacqueline said.

She explained that the new register will also provide an opportunity for all party members to participate in the upcoming structure and internal elections.

On her part, she was urged to actively participate in government programs like the parish development model and Emyooga, among other initiatives that seek to enhance household incomes.
