In a gesture of appreciation for the ongoing efforts to foster family development and alleviate poverty within communities, Kiconco Patrick Katabazi, Member of Parliament hopeful for Rukiga County, extended gratitude to the Kigezi Diocesan Bishop during Easter celebrations.

Addressing believers at Nyeikunama COU on March 31st, 2024, Hon. Katabazi, affectionately known as KP, lauded the Easter message delivered by the Kigezi Diocesan Bishop, Rt. Rev. Gad Akanjuna. The Bishop’s message, conveyed by Archdeacon Nyabireerema Archdeaconry Ven Can Turyatunga Manase, emphasized the importance of education for children and the establishment of income-generating projects within families.

Furthermore, Bishop Akanjuna encouraged believers to prioritize cleanliness within their families, echoing the success of recent cleanliness competitions held within the Diocese.

Reflecting on the persistent poverty levels in Kigezi Sub-Region, Hon. Katabazi urged believers to unite in efforts to eradicate poverty from the region, emphasizing the need for collective action.

The Easter celebrations held at St. Andrews Nyabireerema Archdeaconry witnessed the baptism of five individuals, including a boy, three girls, and one married woman who transitioned from the Catholic to Anglican faith.

The convergence of faith and community development initiatives underscores the commitment of both religious and political leaders to uplift families and transform lives within Kigezi Sub-Region.
