Bishop Bagamuhunda explained that the ordained deacons will serve on probation for a full year before they are confirmed to priests. Bagamuhunda says that the process of training the six deacons until they reach the level of priests will is costing the diocese shillings 140 million. He asked them to withstand mockery of their qualification and only focus on trusting God.  He also warned them against going astray of God’s commands.

David Bahati, minister of State for Trade, Industry and Cooperatives asked the deacons to preach shepherd ways of poverty eradication like commercial agriculture. He also asked deacons to preach against corruption because it impedes development but instead promotes togetherness among Christians. Sonia Kyarikunda, the only female deacon who was ordained expressed happiness and readiness to serve the Lord.
