Police in Kisoro district is investigating circumstances under which a man was killed by a mob in Burihira village in Nyakinama sub-county.
According to the area village chairperson Vallenge Igraguha, the deceased identified as Wilber Bizimana (40) is a resident Bifunfu village, Rwaramba parish Nyakinama sub-county Kisoro district
Iraguha says that the deceased who was armed with a sharp panga reportedly trespassed in the of one Mary Nyiramikyo before the husband bumped into him and invited neighbors for rescue who immediately started pouncing on him.
Bizimana who was until today after a prominent thief according to locals was beaten up to when he breathed his last.
.Kigezi regional police spokesperson Elly Maate told African Pearl News that the police visited the scene and picked the body for a postmortem as investigations into the matter continue.
Maate also urged locals to desist from mob justice saying that they should always work closely with authorities to sort such issues.
