Man arrested for cutting a female’s private parts

Police in Rukungiri has in custody a 36-year-old man for allegedly cutting private parts of a 21-year-old girl.

The suspect has been identified as Yoonah Karigye a mukiga by tribe resident of Kalinga village Rwakirungura parish Buyanja Sub County in Rukungiri district.

It’s alleged that while Oreeba Esther resident of the same area moved out today morning at around 7pmin the neighborhood at the home of the late Alex Nahurira to borrow axe.

 On arrival, she a worker (suspect) pulled a young girl child whose private parts were already cut with intestines hanging outside and crying at a very low tune.

Kigezi Region Police spokesperson Elly Maate said that the victim Kagirl Maryscent had disappeared from her home today morning.

The local council one chairperson Benon Musasizi gathered residents who arrested Kaligye and handed him at Buyanja police station from where a case of attempted murder was preferred and the Police at Rukungiri main station notified.

Maate says that the victim was picked from an isolated banana plantation at a distance from the suspect’s home and taken to Karoli Lwanga Referral Hospital Nyakibale and later to Mbarara Regional referral hospital.
