Catheline Atwakiire Ndamira, the woman Member of Parliament for Kabale District, has urged farmers to practice sustainable agriculture methods, particularly during the rainy season, to protect land, livestock, and human lives from erosion and flooding.

Atwakiire made the call on Sunday at the installation service of Mukarangye COU’s new parish priest, Rev. Dorcas Niwamanya, which was presided over by Ven. Agrippa Kyarikunda, Archdeacon of Kamuganguzi Archdeaconry, Kigezi Diocese.

Atwakiire explained that people should again resort to traditional ways of farming like terracing, contour plowing, and mulching, among others, which were good for the conservation of the environment.

Ven. Agrippa Kyarikunda, Archdeacon of Kamuganguzi Archdeaconry, Kigezi Diocese commended Ndamira for always supporting the church and urged Christians to work together for the development of the church and their homes as well,
