Ntungamo leaders demand better handling of patients.

Authorities in Ntungamo have called on the health workers in the district to embrace better handling of health workers, just like the government has prioritized better remuneration for scientists.

Speaking at the launch for the construction of a twin staff house for health workers at Nyakyera Health Centre III on Tuesday afternoon, Ntungamo resident district commissioner Godfrey Mucunguzi revealed that the locals rush to facilities with high expectations after trying out several other options and that the way they are received highly contributes to their recovery, thus calling on health workers to do better.

Ntungamo district chairperson Samuel Muchunguzi Rwakigoba revealed that the district leadership is committed to improving the welfare of the health workers, such as through the construction of staff houses, which he revealed gets rid of challenges such as staying away from facilities, which is not only costly but also cripples service delivery.

Muchunguzi also urged the locals to work closely with the contractors and ensure that quality work is executed.

The Ntungamo chief administrative officer, Ndifuna Mathias, urged the contractor to ensure timely completion of the project to enable timely planning and payments.
