In a show of solidarity with President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s vision for wealth creation, members of the NRM Office of the National Chairman (ONC) in the Kigezi Sub-region have pledged their unwavering support to government initiatives aimed at fostering economic growth in the area. Determined to ensure the success of all NRM projects, these leaders convened at the Apo Hotel in Muhanga Town Council, Rukiga district, to strategize on ways to bolster performance and impact.

Tanbull Akampa, the team leader for Kigezi ONC members, stressed the importance of effective supervision in guaranteeing the efficiency and effectiveness of government programs in the region. Speaking on the wealth creation efforts, Akampa emphasized the need for meticulous oversight to ensure that initiatives yield tangible results and uplift the lives of the people.

During the gathering, leaders inspected a coffee plantation owned by Medard Turyatemba, a beneficiary of the extensive coffee cultivation program spearheaded by Operation Wealth Creation in collaboration with Dr. Sylivia Arineitwe, Director of the Kigezi Farmers Transformation Initiative. This initiative, launched in October of the previous year, aims to empower farmers and boost agricultural productivity across the region.

Akampa also appealed to the youth in Kigezi to embrace government initiatives tailored to their development, underscoring the potential for these programs to catalyze positive change and economic prosperity.

Gibbs Barigayomwe, Chairperson of Rukiga Youth, echoed the sentiment, expressing the youth’s unwavering commitment to elevating household incomes through various grassroots initiatives aimed at driving sustainable economic growth.

Among those who have benefited from the region’s development endeavors, individuals like Medard Turyatemba and Jackline Kobusingye expressed optimism about the future, highlighting the transformative impact of government-led initiatives on their lives and livelihoods.

The ONC, operating within Uganda’s ruling NRM party, has been instrumental in spearheading efforts to alleviate unemployment and poverty since its inception. Led by Hajjat Hadijah Uzieye Namyalo, the ONC remains steadfast in its commitment to advancing President Museveni’s vision for a prosperous and thriving Uganda.
