In a bid to harness the untapped potential of young talent in Ndorwa West constituency, Simon Agaba, the aspiring Member of Parliament, inaugurated the Ndorwa West MK Football Tournament. The event, held at Janan Luwum Memorial School playground in Kamuganguzi sub-county and Katwaro playground in Ryakarimira town council, Kabale district, marks a significant step towards empowering the youth through sports.

Agaba emphasized the importance of discipline in sports, highlighting it as a cornerstone of success. Beyond talent development, he underscored the tournament’s role in promoting the core values of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), chaired by Gen. Muhoozi Keinerugaba, anticipated as Uganda’s next president after Museveni.

The highlight of the tournament is the chance for the champions to face off against Team MK Select from Kampala. Moreover, the final day promises an exhilarating kickboxing exhibition by professionals from Kampala, enhancing the spectacle for football enthusiasts.

At the launch, Agaba generously provided footballs and jerseys to participating teams, setting the stage for an engaging competition. The winning team stands to claim not only a trophy but also a substantial cash prize of Ugandan Shillings 1 million, with each participating team guaranteed a share of Shs. 200,000.

Agaba revealed plans for similar tournaments across the Kigezi sub-region, culminating in a grand regional competition under the auspices of the PLU. This concerted effort underscores the commitment to harnessing youth potential and fostering community engagement through sports.

The Ndorwa West MK Football Tournament serves as a testament to Agaba’s dedication to youth empowerment and community development, signaling a promising future for talent nurturing in the region
