Rukungiri man stabs grandfather to death

Police in Rukungiri district are investigating circumstances under which a casual worker stabbed his boss to death over unpaid wages.

It’s alleged that in the night of 17/4/2021 at around 21:00hrs at Kanyankyende village, Bugangari sub county Rukungiri district one Bernard Barugahare  (74) a peasant farmer   while at his home, was attacked by his grandson one Jackson Kamwesigye  alias boy” who also doubled a grandson  of about 30 years old of the same address.

Kigezi region police spokespersons Elly Maate says that the disagreement stemmed failure to be paid his wages which was demanding since was a casual worker for the deceased.

Maate says that the suspect grabbed him outside the kitchen and stabbed him in the neck to death in the presence of the wife one Edisa Tugumisirize  (73)  who reported the matter to the neighbors for rescue and unfortunately they found him already dead.

He adds that the police visited the scene, exhibit of the killing weapon(knife) was recovered at the scene and the body was taken to Rwakabengo health center III mortuary for postmortem. 

Police have started hunting for the suspect who is currently on the run.
